I got back from Christmas break and Tanner came a week later. He stayed out here for about 10 days and we had a blast. Here are pictures and some of the stuff we were able to do. The first day he was here, he did the volunteer training at The National Ability Center. This gave him the opportunity to volunteer with the participants and then the plus side of that was that he could free ski on his own if and when he volunteered for a day.
Here we are on the top of the mountain on one of the first days we skied together.
This is one of his free ski days. I am not sure where he is but you can see some of the valley below.
This was his first lesson he volunteered on. He said this was a great time with this gentleman.
Here is his second lesson. Phil is the instructor on the right and then the gentleman in the white helmet sitting in the bi-ski is getting ready to go out. His friend is standing next to Tanner.
We went to Crown Burger in Salt Lake City. We saw Man vs Food and he ate here when we were watching it over Christmas break. This place was really really really good.
Then we went to the Jazz game. It was Tanner's first professional sporting event so it was pretty cool.
My car went over the 100,000 mile mark. It was a momentous moment.
On the last day he was here we planned on skiing. We went out on the hill and did three runs and that was that. It was so icy and not fun that we called it a day and went to Salt Lake. I brought him to Temple Square and then we hit a couple of antique stores. The one above was crazy with so much stuff.
We then went to another shop and found some sweet Zippo lighters. It was a pretty fun day even not skiing.
We had a great time together and skied some great runs and saw some cool places and ate some great food. It was a blast having him here.
Here is a video. I did not know he was taping me but he was and he was on skies for the day. Watch it all the way through and you can see me demonstrating the way not to ski.
Introduction
My name is Ben Hulin, and I am from South Bend, IN. This last year I completed classes at Bethel College and received my Health and Physical Education teaching license in Indiana. I am starting this blog to chart some of my activities. Many of you know that I participate in everything I participated in before my motorcycle accident, but now do them in different ways. This blog will show some of the activities, competitions, and different races I am involved in. Please comment or ask questions as we go. I am more than happy to explain things in detail. Thanks for following.
